Release tension and end your day with a Yin yoga session. Yin yoga works to calm the nervous system, relax tense muscles and bring the body into an easeful state. Yin invites us to release muscular effort and allow for low stress over longer periods of time (typically 3-5min holds) to move directly into our connective tissues of fascia, ligaments and bones. Connective tissues respond differently than our muscles do to force and pressure, so this practice is a wonderful compliment to more dynamic, movement based classes and helps to keep energy levels in the body balanced.
